Featured LAN - Carolina CoN
Posted on: 10/28/2007 - By: BJ

We take a moment to chat with Jeff Stone aka Stone1555 with NCGaming.com and Carolina CoN to talk about their upcoming event and other items of interest.

LG: Please give us a brief background and history of your event. What is the most played game at your events as of late?

NCG: NC Gaming is the new name of the Former Triad Gaming Commission. We have hosted LAN's in Greensboro for about 4 years now. The most played game at the event and still a favorite would have to be Counter Strike Source.

LG: This fall, there are so many great games coming out or have already been released for the PC. Do you think that Publishers should separate out their release of games? What are you looking forward to are already playing?

NCG: I understand that publishers want the holiday release for the $$, but yes, i think spreading great titles out throughout the year should be a must. And as for Releases, it was Halo 3 and COD4. As for unreleased games, I would say Crysis.

LG: Langaming.net's goal is to bring LANs/LAN Centers together to help one another. Any advice for the basement gamers thinking about starting a public event?

NCG: It's not as easy as it looks. Before jumping in the ring, make sure you attend a multitude of events to get how different people do theres. Some have structure, and some just go by the seat of there pants.

LG: What are you thoughts on professional gaming or leagues?

NCG: Wow, thats a tough one. I think it is a sport and there are talented people that just play video games. Its nothing different from football, basketball, or any other sport people are paid to play.
